Filming Day 3:

Saturday 2nd February:
Location/s: Train Line, Graveyard

Train Station:
I decided to film at the trainstation and wanted to capture images going through the station. This was a challenge as not many trains actually arrived at the station and much of the footage wasnt suitable for the video because the film caused a dark shadow over the camera making the footage blurred. This lead to me filming from the bridge down onto the track to create and image of the train passing under the track. This works well as i can speed it up in the editing process to make it look like a rush and fit it to the speed and pace of my music.
Filming here took about 45 minutes and the weather conditions were appropriate for my video as they were mild and sunny which is something i wanted to achieve as i want my video to give off a feel that it was shot in springtime.
Looking back at the footage i believe there is a good sense of continuity between the shots which will re-enforce the narrative within my video and ultimatley make it more interesting to my audience. I particularly like the shot of Joe walking down the stairs of the bridge in the station as the sun is in the top right corner of the shot, i believe this is effective and looks good within the shot as there is a contrast between the sun and the stars which are a theme of my video. I have also shown this in the images i have taken for my ancillary texts and is therefore a reoccuring theme that the audience can make links between.

Graveyard:The graveyard shots were filmed on the same day as i wanted the weather conditions to be the same so that the audience could establish that the train station and graveyard shots were supposed to be on the same day in the characters life. I filmed at a local graveyard near to college as it was easy to access and had shots which i believe look appropriate on screen and help the audience to immediatley establish that the setting is at a graveyard. These shots follow a narrative and therefore the continuity has to be clear- unlike the jump cut section i will be filming later on. Joe looks at images on his phone of him and his girlfriend which immediatley tells the audience that she is the one that is dead- which is something that hasn't been made clear until now and is an important part of the narrative.
